I have a son and am expecting my second now. I was pregnant for 37 weeks with my son. Now I'm 38 weeks pregnant and this baby seems to show no signs of coming out anytime now. I thought the second kid was always sooner than the first. But I can see that wasn't your case or mine!

Well, "always sooner" isn't always right! We are the best neonatal intensive care units for our babies, we want to let them cook 'til they're done, usually around 40 weeks, because full term gestation of baby is counted as 280 days, and Dr. Thomas H. Brewer told me that a well nurished, healthy pregnant mom with a well functioning placenta and healthy preborn baby, tends to go alittle over 40 weeks.

Yes, your baby's brain is growing at the most rapid rate of his/her lifetime right now. Baby is also laying down fat reserves (for body temp regulation after birthing) and refining different organ systems for functioning on their own. Pregnant moms eat for four: herself, maintaining pregnancy, the placenta, the preborn baby.

I know...but I'm tired of waiting. But I guess I have to wait considering it's for baby's good:)

Do they induce at 41 weeks in Australia? USA obs tend to cut off at 42 weeks.

I don't know what full term feels like. was miserable though with both my children. my 7 yr old was born at only 33 1/2 weeks and my 2 yr old was born at 36 almost 37 weeks. I was miserable though becasue I was sweling from preeclampsia. It was very scary for me. Luckily my children has no health problems and has been strong since the day they were born.

Yes, it sounds very scary, I'm glad you and your children are now well. My I ask, at what week pregnancy did you develop preeclampsia in your pregnancies?

Yes, it sounds very scary, I'm glad you and your children are now well. May I ask, at what week of pregnancy did you develop preeclampsia in your pregnancies? Were your labors induced because of preeclampsia?

Babies - Babies
With my first they finally induced me right at 40 weeks telling me she was a really small baby, she came into this world weighing 9lbs 8oz. I would hate to have seen what she would have been if they thought she was large. My second I had at 36 weeks, she weighed in at 8lbs 4 oz. I actually went into labor with her naturally and labored for over 33 hours before I finally had her.

But actually, one year before my daughter was born, I drempt that I was pregnant and the baby went long overdue and was fine. So I had a "sence" about it and I listened to my intuition.

My first I was pregnant for 38 weeks. He threatened to come at 27 weeks, but thankfully with hospitalization and bedrest and medicine he waited! My second was kind of wierd. According to the doctor I was 40 weeks. But, after he was born the OB and the pediatrician said he was closer to 42-43 weeks. He was 9 lb 1oz, was dry and very distressed and the placenta showed that it was a long pregnancy. No wonder I was so ready to get that kid out!!!
