Why do you think a lot of people who have genius level IQ develop some sort of mood disorder or mental illness? Much like John Nash as depicted in the movie "A Beautiful Mind". I hag my IQ tested and it was in the genius level, and I have a mood disorder but I dont think its related to being a genius, but more because of abuse. But I have read a study before about this. I cant find the article that I read about this.

They don't develop a mental illness, they are born with it. It just may take a while to manifest itself.

I don't quite understand your reply. What do you mean by they are born with mental illness? So, you believe mental illness is genetics or biological in nature? So people who have been abused and later develop illnesses such as depression and post traumatic stress disorder was just something waiting to happen? So if all geniuses, lets assume everyone inside the mensa society were to be taken to a place where they will share all the exact same conditions and experiences, all of them will develop a mental illness at some point?

People that think at the genius level can become very absorbed with themselves, and wrongly think that they are alone in the World... many don't even see this as an error and truly a tragic one, at that... There are many support groups that can help: http://www.wilywalnut.com/ I am aware of this because I lost a great friend whose mental prowess was nothing short of miraculous. Take good care of yourself, and have a great day! :)
