As many know I have been embarking of the whole Law Of Attraction concepts and principles. While the Law Of Attraction is not a new concept for me, I got all "fired" up again ever since I've read the book and seen the DVD of The Secret. One thing I've done for years is to create what is known as "vision board" or also known as a treasure map. And creating one can be so much fun as well. What you do is take a nice whole stack of magazines..have a nice variety, such as home decor, travel, fashion, photography, writing, cars, any kind of magazines...the sky's the limit...then spend some time cutting out the images that appeals to you...Want to envision better health? Cut out a picture of a healthy smiling person to represent you. Want that dream house? Kitchen, Living room, furniture...go through home magazines clipping out images...oh, a great magazine for that "luxury" home is Unique Homes. Want that Jaguar or BMW, cut an image of that out (my choice is the Jaguar XJ)...do you envision getting a new camera? Cut out the camera you want. Want to travel various places, cut out images of the places you long to travel. Want more of the green stuff? Uh, Money?? Get some play money or print up images of money from your computer. Well you get the idea--now, take all those clippings, and with a large poster type board, paste on all those images onto the board...better yet, don't just have or make up one board, make two or three...then tack up that board or boards in a place where you can see it all the time...Near your computer, in your bedroom, and so forth. Keep looking at those images to saturate your mind that, that is what you want in your life..and believe that one day, those images will become a reality in your life. Okay..I haven't become a millionaire...yet..I'm working on it...hehe--but for the past few years one of my images I had on my numerous vision boards was a complete computer system, with printer, film scanner, and a large computer desk...Uh, well folks, I got them all now--so it DOES work. So give it a go...it is a lot of fun to do.

I have seen this done and i believe in The Secret, I think this little project could be taken one step further and that is instead of usinf magazines use your digital camera and photograph everything for your board in that way your vision board would be so much more personal, I think it is such a good idea...

My Collarge - my collarge in lounge room
OMG as I sent my comment off to you I looked up avove my computer and I suddenly realized it has already worked for me, when I was a teenager I absolutely adoured this singer and just couldn't quite get over him, he was asuperstar so to speak here in the 60's I had heeps of photosand some years ago I did a collage of his photos and it has always been in my loungeroom as going to his concerts were a big part of my lofe when I was young, in 2000 I actually started talking to him at his come back concerts, I ended up spending 18 glorious months with him until he passed away in 2002, so it already has worked for me...so there is proof it works.

This really is a great idea. It's kind of like, when you can't fit into your favorite jeans...hang them up on the outside of your closet door or someplace visible to you...and it will stay on your mind and act as a motivator. I will be bringing this up to my fiance when he gets home. He wants to travel and all that stuff...I do too. We just redid our budget and bill schedule and trying to pay off all of our debt. It's working out great so far but I think your poster idea would be a great motivater. Thanks for posting this!

Hey pw, I saw a commercial for this-I've always said "believe it & achieve it" I think the secret works on basically the same principal-perception becomes reality. +'s |:)

Actually W. Clement Stone had his famous phrase..."“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”--a real classic!

I also heard one of our local beautiful actress (ist runner up MS. Universe-forgot the year) is doing that too, she once showed her vison board on a recent interview, she said it motivates her a lot. There's nothing wrong trying that out right..so I'm gonna talk to hubby about this too. :)

That's a great idea, pyewacket! I used this method a long time ago when I really wanted to lose weight badly. Who says it won't work again? I will start first thing tomorrow on my board. A Jaguar?, LOL. I guess you're going to take driving lessons. It's good that you got your computer system. I need one of those also. I really have to get to work. Keep the positive messages coming.

Hello Nardz13 and Pyewacket, May your check arrive speedily, Nardz13! I believe you, Pyewacket when you say you watch a little bit of "The Secret" daily. I certainly can relate to that. Whenever I discover a great new spiritual and uplifting book, I read it over and over and over again. The message really seeps in that way.

Hello Pyewacket, I call what you have described as a 'Manifestation Map'. Hubby & I create a new map each New Year's Eve. We take great pleasure in marking images or words off the map once we have achieved or obtained that desire. Some images represent tangibles, others are more esoteric. We keep our map in our office, where we can regularly monitor our active manifestations. Personally, I would much rather spend New Year's Eve at home, with Hubby working on our plans & dreams, than driving on the roads with revellers. Plus, New Year's Eve is all about new beginnings. So, I find it a perfect time to create our new map. Great topic, by the way!

Its so funny because a lot of the things you're reading about - to make your life better - I have read in Sylvia Browne books years ago. This included :) I think these are wonderful things to do and to share so that others will also do the same thing :) I think the visualization helps you to not forget what you're working toward. It keeps it fresh :)

I very much believe in the power of positive thinking, but I have not actually seen "The Secret" DVD although I have heard very good things about it. This concept of a vision board is a new idea to me, and I have to say that I quite like it. I am not a very visual person myself, which means that I have a difficult time visualizing things in my mind. Having things right in front of me as pictures on a board would therefore help me to visualize the things that I want to have in my life. Unfortunately, I can't say that I really have a lot of magazines around here to go through and cut out pictures of the things that I would like to have in my life. And some of the things that I crave the most would be hard to put into pictures, I suppose.. although I have a few ideas. Hmm. Maybe I will do it one day! But either way, I will definitely attempt to continue thinking positively. Thinking negatively definitely does not help anything, and the power of positive thinking has been proven to me time and time again.

I'm not a very visual person myself in that I can't have a "picture" in my mind either, so that is why having these visions boards is great--yes thinking positive is so much more productive than negative

Hiya pyewacket dear, I finaly found this discussion of yours, and here I am :) In any case I have my vision board that I find "past it's time" already, while I made it only 3 months ago, so this kind of sucks. Anyway, I will be making a new one on the 9th , which is my BD, the most beloved day for me in the entire year :) LOL, it has always brought me great things (except for the part of getting older, but I don't want to think about this now...) In any case you just inspired me to make a new - fresh one for my BD and to give it a great go with lots of momentum and focus :)YAY! Thanks dear and all the best to each and everypne of those making and using their Treasure Map :)

Vision board is a brilliant idea to make the law of attraction work. As they say a picture is worth thousand words. Our mind responds faster to a picture that we consistently see and feel good about. Vision bard is like a preview of your life to come.

That is an awsome idea! I have tons of mags so maybe I'll do that myself? I've always cut out and saved images of things I wanted for future reference like decor ideas, home things, a dress, ect. I once cut out this really amazing engagement ring and pasted it in my journal... well he bought the exact ring that week and he was nowhere near where he could've seen the journal. He never asked though and we broke up, he still has the ring and we're friends though. Hmm... maybe it was the paste I used, lol. It's a really cool idea though and sounds like fun. Yay a project for this weekend!
