Did you or someone you know have pre-eclampsia, toxemia, or high blood pressure during pregnancy?

I had severe toxemia during pregnancy. It was accompanied by other severe complications also. Since I required emergency transfer to another hospital, I had to be given magnesium sulfate in the hopes of preventing seizures during the trip there.

Thank you for your response. I hear that magnesium sulfate causes extreem thirst and "hotness".

The hotness was terrible! I literally thought I was on fire...it felt like I was burning from the inside out. I was really relieved when that feeling passed. It didn't last long but was extremely intense.

Have you heard of Dr Thomas H. Brewer's nutritional recommendations for pregnancy? Dr Brewer worked extensively with prevention of metabolic toxemia of late pregnancy (MTLP).

I've taught Dr Brewer's nutritional recommendations since 1980, with his permission. Dr Brewer passed away in 2005. Here's a link to my website, Auntie Natal 911: http://www.auntienatal911.com

Maternal nutrition during pregnancy is the singlemost important aspect that a woman can control in terms of the outcome of pregnancy, and prevention of avoidable conditions. Dr. Brewer said so.

My blood pressure was so high during my last pregnacy. That my doctor made me quit work. I was only 4 months along.
