Sympathy for Vick?

Ok, maybe I am reading too much into this but, I am a little tired of sports media, lawyers, and players feeling sympathic toward Michael Vick. They all talk about how he will have to get his life together and rehabilitate himself after prison. They say he will have to try to work with animal rights groups etc. Some how I dont see the ASPCA or PETA wanting anything to do with him. I dont believe that even if he gives millions of dollars and does public service announcements for them, that they will believe him. He has already lied about it. Why would anyone believe him? I know some people would be inclined to say that "He paid his dues to society". Do you feel sympathy? After he serves his time would you care about him?

i have zero sympathy for that man. absolutely none. i hope he gets the full extent of the law smacked down on his head for what he did. that's just horrible. but i do hope peta and the aspca take his money. that would be JUST FINE with me. :-D

No sympathy here. I saw one report that said he could be looked at as a "victim" in all of this, getting caught up in the dog fighting by people who didn't have his interests at heart. Gimme a break, the man still was able to make his own choices. It's like me saying I am a "victim" of my current financial problems, so instead of sucking it up and getting another job I decide to go rob a bank. What I am getting frustrated with is the media's obsession with covering stories like these, stories that won't matter 2 months from now. I wish they would focus their energy on stories to get people thining again, stories that bring to light the problems in our society and solutions to fix them.

Well said. I don't know why people think sports stars should get special treament. For someone who is considered a "role model" for Atlanta children---ugh.
