Have you ever used a pager???

I used to have a pager some ten years ago. My hubby bought it for me as I was working in a place few hundred km away from my hometown. At that time cellphone was rare found as the net work was not properly developed then. Pager is a device that could be called by using line phone or public line phone. But the pager user on receiving the massage couldn’t speak to the caller instantly as what we usually could do with our cellphone. So it was rather inconvenient to use a pager. Any way it was very useful as tool for communication at that time.

lol I had a pager in high school for a year I think. It was so pointless because I didn't have a cellphone to call anyone back if I was paged. Most of the time, I wasn't even near a payphone. It was basically a waste, but it was a pretty color.:P

nah .. i wasnt able to use the pager as i was a small kid wen the pagers were around :D..

I remember having a pager through junior high, even though my parents did not want me to get one. It was always on silent when I was at home, but it was one of my favorite things when I was out. We used to use pager code to send each other messages and wait for new ones to come on them so that we could read them. Oh well, once the cell phone became popular, it was the preferred communication device. There are some people that still use pagers; a couple of the field guys here at work still have one.

haha, thanks for bringing back the old memories. yes, i did, some years ago when sms was still unavailable via the cellular phones. at that time, me and my friends also thought perhaps in the future, messages like the pages would go two-way. and later on, sms was brought up via the cellulars.

I still have an old cell phone and pager. I do not really need them right now, so they are simply collecting dust.

When first time i came to know about a pager i was i think in Grade 11. At that i was not having access to this and when it was possible for me to purchase it the Mobile was available in the market. So i preferred to have a mobile instead of a pager.

Yes, before the era of mobile phones, I used pagers - they were very helpful for when I was on the road.
