What do you think after the formation of ICL and the movement of many big names into its concept will lead to dispute between the players and the BCCI ? Regarding many aspects i.e. match fees , playing conditions and proper coaching and so on....

It is a good thing that BCCI has got a good competition, this will definitely break the monopoly that BCCI has been enjoying all these years. But in order to sustain and to have a good fight with BCCI, ICL has to have a very good set of matches to attract more people to them. I really wonder how their format of the game will. I feel that they might come with a plan very similar to English Premier League in India and will draw up crowds through various means like cheerleading, entertainments, etc during the game and will try and make a good entertaining cricket through all those players they have signed up, otherwise it would become very difficult for them to sustain. I also feel that they might get a very good scoop by grabbing a top indian player soon to their side, at least to grab more attention and make it more interesting. Whatever it may be, I feel that if the game of cricket in india (which is like religion here) improves, all such initiatives should be welcomed with both hands. I wish that ICL becomes a big success in India and give a good lesson to BCCI. They are having good management team with kapil dev, kiran more, madan lal, etc who are all good thinking cricketers and will make it more worthwhile to watch. I also feel that they should get at least one or two australian cricketers too. ICL could be a new dawn of indian or it could go off without a trace and only time can tell the answer regarding the same.

I agree completely with Milott. BCCI has had a free run and enjoyed complete monopoly over Indian cricket for far too long. But it has achieved precious little for general improvement of Indian cricket and take it on to a next level of professionalism. Pre 1983, Indian cricket was famous for Gavaskar and the spin quartet of Bedi, Prasanna, Venkataraghavan and Chandrashekhar. Post 1983 it was Kapil Dev all the way and a new emergence pace bowlers. Then Tendulkar… but where to from here? All the above players were individual masters who single-handedly displayed their skills without any ‘help’ from BCCI. But what about next-generation master-players? The BCCI had done precious little to hunt and hone talents from all over India, and has focused on particular zones only. The conditions of the stadiums are appalling and so is general management. Professional players, who have once earned their place in the team, go on playing inside and ‘outside’ the team without a care for their performance level. They go on earning handsomely while talented young players waste their youth waiting for their turn, which never comes. There is no professionalism, no accountability, no urge to excel, To immediately rid Indian cricket of the complacency and mediocrity that has set in, there should be competition to BCCI and I wish the ICL all luck. Only thing is that it should not slide down like the BCCI with internal bickering and zonal partiality.
