I'm a big Gene Kelly fan, and for my age I'm told that's rare, and this is the movie that started my fascination with the man. It's such a good movie, at least in my opinion. I like most of the songs in it, but I like the one Cosmo/Don sings "Make em' laugh" I also like "Moses Supposes", which kind of made me laugh a bit too. "Good Morning" and "Singin' in the rain" always get stuck in my head. I like a lot of quotes in the movie, I don't know that I could pick just one. I've seen a lot of Gene Kelly movies since this one, but this movie is still one of my favorites of his. They actually kind of stole "Make em' Laugh" from the movie " The Pirate" it's basically a version of " Be a Clown". So anyone else a big "Singin' in the Rain" fan? I'll be just as interested to hear what you like about the movie, or if you too are a big Gene Kelly fan. It's hard to find people that are interested in musicals, especially the older ones. Or at least people that will admit to it lol.

Oh "Singin' In The Rain" is my favourite film of all time! I LOVE it and have done since the first time I saw it when I was a teenager. My favourite scene is of course when Gene Kelly sings the title song but I love "Good Morning" as well. The whole thing is just perfect. I've watched it hundreds of times - I can even recite some of the script (not that I'm a sad geek or anything like that!) Actually I haven't really seen that many Gene Kelly films but I can't imagine he ever did anything better.

I know what you mean, I can practically quote the whole movie. I've seen it so many times. I bought the special edition. "Good Morning" always gets stuck in my head after I watch the movie again. I get some pretty odd looks when I start humming it. As for Gene Kelly's movies he's made some really good ones. He always does something unique in his movies. Anchors Aweigh he dances with Jerry the mouse. It's a good movie. Cover Girl is another good one he dances with his ulter ego. In it's always fair weather he dances on roller skates, I liked it, but it wasn't one of my favorites, but that part alone makes it worth watching. On the town was just all together good. It's always fair weather was supposed to be a sequal, but they couldn't get Frank Sinatra, but Singin' in the Rain is still my favorite. Now I've got "Singin' in the Rain" stuck in my head. I started singing it yesterday when it was raining lol, and it's been stuck. Which is probably why the topic came up, that and I'm reading another Gene Kelly biography. Any way you look at it though, that movie is just great. It made #5 on AFI's list of 100 movies in 100 years. It's been on AFI's list for many years now. #5 is a pretty good spot out of 100.

Hi sissy! Welcome to mylot!!! I don't blame you for loving the movie, Singing in the Rain. Like you, those songs get stuck in my head. I wake my kids up every day singing "Good Morning." This musical is 2nd only to my all time favorite... "The Music Man." with Robert Preston and Shirley Jones. I think I love this one, because it's a) set in my homestate--Iowa and b) who can't love anything Meridith Wilson wrote? Don't worry about your age, my dear. I loved SITR since I was about 6! :)

Hi, and Thank you. Yeah Good Morning always manages its way into my head. I've never seen The Music Man, but I might check it out when and if I get the chance.
