Do you think that Shortcuts in Text Messages make you Dull?

Yup I do agree with you that some people nowadays tend to forget the right spelling of a word because of getting used to using text shorcuts while texting. I think its the younger ones, kid and teenagers who are mostly affected by this. I usually use text shorcuts when I'm texting on my cellphone but I try not to get use to it by using the correct spelling when typing my email messages and forums on the internet. I think it helps and keeps the balance for me not to forget my spellings. :-)

It does become habit forming to use "shortcuts" when texting and yes it does sometimes become more like your first language. But if you think about it when sending a text your almost always doing something else (driving hmm we have all done it, cooking, taking care of the kids ect.) so using the fastest method of getting your message sent is what we do, also a text message can only be spacific size which differs between phone companys. But the trick is to make sure when your not typing a Instent Message ir a Text Message then go back and use grammer the way we were all taught in scholl, and how we are suppost to type or write in the real world LOL!!
