I have never been comfortable seeing birds in cages at all. I feel like birds should be what they are supposed to do; fly and fly high. I admire birds very much, especially those cute and small ones, but I certainly don't feel that they should be subjected to 'live' in the cage. If I were to be a bird, I'd end up a very unhappy bird in a cage.

Such a great and wonderful poem. I would love to create poems too. I think poems are another beautiful and powerful form of emotions expression besides articles and writings. Thanks for sharing..

I am very much against birds being caged up.Birds are so beautiful and its nice to see them out in the garden. Its a real pleasure to watch birds.Since I have a huge garden with lots of flowers different types of birds keep coming to take honey from the flowers.I have kept a bird bath and a bowl of grains. Lots of different varieties of birds keep coming.I keep watching them its such a pleasure to see them all over the place. Its sad to cage these poor things.Any pet for that matter needs to be kept well. They need to be free.

Of course. You have said it all very beautifully.Perhaps you are one of those who are blessed with those serene surroundings with plants and birds.I can imagine how nice your garden may look with those flowers, birds and bird bath. And a person with that kind of wonderful surroundings will always have a good heart that cares for everyone including birds and animals. Please accept my best response.

Hi balasri, I had kept birds as pet during my childhood. After growing up I have never rear birds in cages anymore. I feel it is a great pity to see the lovely birds to be restricted in the small and narrow cages They couldn’t fly freely in the air anymore. Yeah, this is just because to fulfill our desire of possession of the adorable birds. Nowadays I prefer to see birds flying freely around. Yeah, there are lots of various kinds of birds seeking food in my yard happily every now then. Happy posting

I love to see colourful small birds but i dont have the idea to keep them in my home as i know they need lot of attention and immense care. I have a friend and one can see a variety of birds in their home and each and every person in their home take care of those birds..way from cleaning the cage, feeding them, talking to them and lots more care they need to live in a good environment. whenver i visit their place i could hear the lovely voice of birds. All we need is proper care..doesnt matter if we keep them in a cage..its for the safety of those small birds from dogs and cats.

My god! cant imagine of this ..even for a single day arrested inside the cage.Practically its not possible for humans to lead a life like this.I think since birds are a tiny creatures and that is the reason for them being kept in small cages. anyway happy week end ! suba

Bird - A parrot kept in cage
Hi balasri, it is nice to have a bird as a pet especially parrot who can mimic human voices and languages. But unfortunately it is an offense in my country to keep any sort of animals or birds that comes under the Wildlife category. We need to apply for special license from the wildlife department if we really what to keep birds as a decorative item in our house.

It is nice to know that your country is co concerned about the welfare of the animals.Unless and otherwise there are stringent laws are enforced like in your country we will be losing most precious species and wipe them from the face of the earth by our selfishness. It is high time we save the wildlife.

I hate the idea of birds being called decorative pieces. They are living beings. My birds were never in the cage. They will be out flying about driving every one crazy at times but not in a cage, never. I mean it is so mean to do that. Isnt it.

I would like it as much as I would want a caged human with rattles in one leg at home! I find it extremely bizarre and annoying. Having said this, I know some people who love their birds as much as they love their children but still I just cannot be at peace with the idea. It feels like being strangled when others are amused at your jugglery skill!.

Imagine the same people with their hands clipped , fed with the best inside a cell and pampered and co cooed every day.

my parrots are not, and have never been "decorative pieces" in my home! they have quite different and unique personalities. and are affectionate and playful with me. they provide companionship, amusement and when im feeling kind of blue, one of them is a great cuddler. i suppose a canary or finch could be considered a "decorative piece" but that is just mean to do, that implies that you are not caring for it the way you really should be. they are living, breathing creatures not a vase on the shelf.

I like to watch beautiful colourful birds but ofcourse not in a cage.Back at home, we have lots of trees near our house.Every morning many beautiful birds would come and sit on the branch.I love to watch them.Birds in a caged, I don't like the idea at all.It is cruelty.Everyone likes freedom, even we humans don't like to be tied up at home.

The eyes of the caged birds and animals tell more sad stories than all the epics of the world piled together.
