Is your coffee maker really far away from your computer or do you have it plugged in right next to it? Mine is 18 steps away. I have to climb over the dog and go through the living room and into the kitchen..Round trip is 36 Steps. Not including the dance steps I have to do to get around my dog...LOL..No wonder my hips are messed up!! How many steps for all of you?

I get my caffeine fix just a little quicker than you, I only need to go 15 steps. I don't have a dog to worry about tripping over, but my son often plays on the kitchen floor, and avoiding him and the minefield of little toys he plays with can make it a risky trip! Oh, by the way, I would've answered you a few minutes ago, but I was too busy counting steps to the kettle!!

Yeah, sure, you did it on purpose to make him get out the way. He probably runs now when he sees you with a coffee cup! I keep waiting for the day that I tread on one of my sons toys and go slip sliding away, lol!!

He stuck out his big paw and tripped me on purpose...I kid you not....Unfortunately he still lays in the way..He does it on purpose and laughs at me, I am sure of it.. Now don't go stepping on the little one and don't be breaking any of his toys or Grandma Feona will be over there in no seconds flat...

You sure do have a ways to go..Don't you just love the safety gates. They are very good when you have little ones. I always have to step over my big dog..He makes it impossible for me to get through.

Hello Feona1962, I never think of counting my steps to my coffee maker. You really make me think hard now. Unfortunately, I can't take the test right now as I am in my office. I will do that later when I reach home today *smiles* My coffee maker is right on the kitchen cabinet and I think it is not that far from my computer room. But as I always online at night and I don't drink coffee... I tend to grab whatever soft drink I have in my fridge. That is not a good habit though...but I like it *laughs*

Hello Feona1962, Coffee will make you wide awake at night. I love to have that if I am busy with my work so that I will not fall asleep or feel bored; if only I drink coffee. But, I prefer to have tea or the best will be anything that is 'ready made' *laughs*

My computer is upstairs and my kettle is downstairs, so it is quite a fair distance really. Nevertheless, it does not deter me from acquiring a constant flow of fresh cups of coffee, which are a must for me.

Hi Feona1962, you start an interesting discussion. You have such power to make me stand up and have a count of steps from my computer to the coffee maker in the kitchen. It takes me 36 steps from my sitting room to reach the coffee maker. In between there is another small sitting room. When I’m boring and tired I would have a cup of hot coffee to refresh me.

Hi Feona, I just went to get my last cup for the night and I counted 23 steps. The coffee maker is clear on the other side of the house in the kitchen. At times I have to climb over one or both of my dogs also so I know what you mean with the dogs. I guess getting up to get a cup of coffee makes for good exersize. Take care, Terry

Mine is probably about the same distance, Feona. It does give me a chance to take a break now and then when I want to go to the kitchen and refill my cup. I love coffee and probably drink more than I should most days.

Oh my goodness, after reading your post I actually went and counted the steps. I have to take nine steps there and nine back so that it a total of 18 all together. I have to go from my tv room to the kitchen to get it. But I have a small house.

How many steps does it take from my computer to the coffee pot? Its about 11 steps for me to get to the coffemaker to get a glass of coffee. But I'm in my room so I have to go out the door and into the kitchen. :-)

My coffee pot is in the kitchen, my computer is in the living room, a total of only 12 steps (more if the cat is in the way) My partner has referred to my coffee run as the*Caffiene Shuffle* LOL

I am a mere 8 steps from my coffee pot. Just around the corner from my computer for easy quick access. If I had to walk much farther than that I'd have to bring the pot into the livingroom.. LOL.

that's an interesting discussion I hope it gets retained! my coffee maker? well, I don't have one in the office sigh. At home, my hot water kettle and three in one coffee mix is in the kitchen whilst my computer is in my study room. So I'd say, about 12 steps away. 18 steps is not too far... I guess you could shift it to your study room where your computer is, if there's a spare socket and table space somewhere!
