Or your tv, or your air conditioning? We're just about to get one and so I shall go. I have to say I love storms. Despite the migraines I get from them alot.

If its lightning then it goes off and gets unplugged. Not taking any chances. I don't unplug the TV and such, don't know why. Probably cause nothing major ever happens, and even if it did I really don't care (TV is slowly becoming a fossil in my opinion).

In my country, as soon as storms are approaching, the power goes off, and we have to turn off our computers eventually.. So, in now way we can use computers when there are storms... Even tvs and acs need to be switched off...

I miss storms living out here in the desert. We get absolutely no rain and forget a good summer thunderstorm. But when I have been in storms, I unplug my computer just in case.

If it's going to be a really bad storm, with a lot of wind, I will usually shut down the computers and sometimes disconnect their power strips from the wall. Even with surge protector power strips, I still am a little leery of my computer getting fried. That's usually all that I turn off before a storm; sometimes I keep the TV on so I can keep track of the weather. I do make sure to find a flashlight and some candles, though, just in case the power goes out.

I leave mine on. It is my link to severe weather. If it is lightening alot then I turn it off. I leave everything else on then.
