I haven't been around for a few days because my son the drummer was in hospital. You may remember he was in a few months ago for pneumothorax. This week he went in again to have a surgery to prevent it from happening again. I'm so tired you'll forgive me if I ask you to google that so you know what it is. He came through fine and is probably going home to his dad's house tomorrow. I sat with him most of the time for two days, even though he was gooned out on pain killers. In a couple months he will have the other lung done to prevent the pneumothorax from happening there. The surgeon said everything went well and he should do fine. He is not looking well enough yet but he claims he's going to go for the first day of school next week. The doctor and we are not too sure of that...but he seems determined. No drums for a few weeks...but it will be worth it to have him healthy. Hey, you girls, moms, women. Just a piece of advice. If someone you love lots is going in for surgery, try to get them to schedule it when you don't have your monthlies....(LOL, sort of just kidding, you know, but sort of serious)... I spent alot of the week all weepy just because of my silly hormones. I know, you can't really have them schedule stuff that way, but I just thought I would share that...

Isn't it funny? You hear so many parents don't like their kids music. I just love listening both to what they play and what they listen to.

So on top of your son being operated on- you had raging hormones! That stinks- I’m so glad to hear that your son is doing well after surgery- Smart- being pro-active to not let it happen again- I like a kid who wants to go to school – so that is great!

Mike really enjoys school. It remains to be seen if he will actually be up to going.

He has Krones diesase and it messes with the bowel system. Take care and well wishes.

I know a man in his twenties who had that surgery. He has been much much better ever since. God speed. Hugs.

Thanks for that advice...surely, I guess I'd do that...but at second thought, since I don't have my monthlies anymore (I am on surgical or clinical menopause) so could be timed when I am on my least vulnerable moments..knock on wood, I hope not...my hubby is diagnosed to have kidney and gall bladder stones recently..thanks God it's not yet that serious to warrant a surgery...he is still on medication now...praying for your son's recovery....
