Do you play the lottery?

A bunch of my coworkers went in on some Powerball tickets. They each put up $10 and if someone would win, they'd split it with everyone who participated. I was just wondering how many people on here also take their chances with the lottery? I guess I'm just too skeptical to risk my hard earned money.

I live in Ohio and sometimes play the scratch-off tickets. My boyfriend and I have a tradition of buying 10 tickets on New Years Eve and scratching them off right at midnight, and seeing if we win... If we do it's a sign of good fortune for the next year. Oddly enough this year we won big but then 2 weeks later my mom found out she had congestive heart failure so it's not a good fortune teller :) Anyway I never play the Powerball and things like that, the chances are so slim it's just a huge waste of money to me.

Here in "Taxachussetts" they have four games (besides the daily numbers game) that cost a dollar each except one that cost two dollars pre play. I play each of those four games one game per day (two of the games are on the same day) so that I wind up playing eight games each week for a total of $10.00 per week. Even if the winnings get real high I only play the $10.00 per week. If I don't play I cannot win and I can afford to lose that $10.00 pre week with hoping that I will make that plus back in winnings. I do not play the scratch tickets. As far as gambling goes, every time that you get up in the morning you are gambling that you will not get hurt or killed during the day with all of the crazy people in the world.

No not atall, this is just waste of mopney. I believe in hard work rather than fate. But I would like to tell you this is very big addiction among middleclass Indians. Some of my friends do it. It's fun to see the faces of my friend on the day of lottry result.
