Soaking them in a solution of water, baking soda and bleach- with a few drops of white vinegar might work, but this depends on what material, they are made of, if it's porcelain- a pourous substance- it might not work.... Take a trip over to Daytipper: http://www.daytipper.com There will be some great tips over there! :)

I always put a cap of bleach in my dish water. I don't drink coffee or tea but my husbands grandmother did and she said it keep her cups from coffee stains.

I get stains when I wash them by hand and I just deep them in little warm water and any good dish ditergent for hr and rum with a good scraber or scotch brite. It goes away but I am interestingly reading all other tips and thinking of trying them next time. Specially the salt and water is so easy and good. Thanks to you for a useful discussion and to all for those tips

I have always used some scouring powder, like Comet and an SOS pad to remove the stains left by coffee or tea. Works for me!

Use damp baking soda on it, or you may get rid of it by using a damp paper towel. It seems that tea stains are the main culprit and also some dishwasher detergents, namely Electosol remove the protective finish on the inside of cups and makes it easy to stain.

I'm missing a dishwasher too my friend. I use a little bleach in my dishwater for stained dishes. Works wonderful. Also you can put a little bit of comet or ajax cleanser on a dishrag and clean it with that too, then wash and rinse well. Hope this helps.
