How long does it take for a person to become successful?

I've finished my studies 1 year ago and luckly after graduation I found a job. First is in ADEC another is in samsung electronics. After a year of working I felt that nothing is still happening in my life and I don't have any investments yet. I don't know what the problem. I'm getting board maybe because I can feel that It's not the nature of work that I imagined myself to be during my college days but still I would really love to become successful one day. How bout you guys?
