How old was Ahaziah when he began to rule over Jerusalem? (a) 22 years old (2 Kings 8:26) (b) 42 years old (2 Chronicles 22:2) Is this as a result of interpretation?

Uhm, what translation are you using? Mine says 22 in both passages.
