How old was Jehoiachin when he became king of Jerusalem?
(a) 18 (2 Kings 24:8)
(b) 8 (2 Chronicles 36:9)
Why this big difference?

18. A numerical system in use when Chronicles was composed had a hooked horizontal stroke denoting 10. Numbers below 10 would be denoted in groups of short vertical strokes. Thus, what was originally written over those strokes would have been read as 8 instead of 18 as it should have.
