I have heart burn before. You mistaken eating hot foods and drinking hot water to be the cause of your heart burn. It's not. What happen was, when you drink hot water or eat hot foods, the air inside your stomach form when you have heartburn expands and the pressure builds in your esophagus and trachea. That's is why you feel the pain in your chest; the heart burn. But the real cause of heart burn is too much acids in your stomach, these acids even travels up your esophagus contributing to heart burn.

As far as i understand heartburns are a result of food which we are unable to digest and it would need some liver strengthening medicines to get ourselves back in shape. I think persons who suffer from frequent heart burns should avoid fast foods and spicy foods.
