"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand." Colossians 3:1 What a concept!! I heard this "conept" last night on the way home from work on a radio program. I had been thinking along these lines for awhile now, realizing that our lives on this earth is all about eternity with Christ. So it's been on the edge of my mind & when I heard (I think it was Dr. Krohl (sp) the 3rd) a teaching on this it just really hit home! It sure does bring me an amazing perspective on life. So I thought this would be a great discussion. What does "living for eternity" mean to you or look like to you? What does it mean to live our lives with the big picture before us?

For me, as a Messianic Jew, it means to continually follow in the steps of Yeshuah (Jesus in Hebrew). Since He is the Master, and He holds the gates to heaven, I must follow Him in all I do.

It also means to spend the money that Yahweh has loaned to me, and make all my plans, with eternity in perspective.

Everyone one of us was created to live eternally. Its just a matter of where we will do that based on our lives and choices concerning repenting of our sins, and receiving the Blood covering Jesus provided on Calvary for us. Will it be life eternal with God, wonderful, life filled, joy and peace, beauty and light? Or eternal torment for rejecting the Son of God as LORD? Suffering, darkness, pain, and the fire that consumes the enemies?

To me the definition of eternity is, the life you get for the way you lived. How we live our lives here and the choices that we make determines how we spend eternity. Just like going to school and the choices we make determines how we will live our adult life. Whether we graduate to heaven or hell, the choice is ours. Trust and obey, sums up the entire word of God in two words. Some people have come up with millions of different products and gimmicks and such to explain two words, trust, obey. As the song says, there is no other way to be happy in Jesus. Everything in God falls under either trusting or obeying him.
