i just come up with this discussion because we just finished cutting grass today. Our grass always grow fast and it wasn't long ago that we cut it (just last week as i remember) and now that just recently had rain days, it really grows fast and needs to be cut again so we decided to just cut it today since it's not that hot outside. We have two tractors, my hunney uses the big one and i use the small one. he cuts in the front of the house and i cut at the back of the house. it takes us 30mins -1hour to cut all the grass because we have a 3 acres of ground. While i was cutting grass riding in my small tractor, i'm wondering if other people always cut their grass also once a week like we do. honestly, I wasn't use to cutting grass before cause we don't have a big ground where i grew up. Unlike here in the US that they have so much ground and they always need to cut the grass, at least once a week. It doesn't really bug me to cut grass because i just use the tractor to cut it and it is fun also for me to ride it. i am just curious to know how many people here also cut their grass and if they always do it at least once a week like we do.

My dad takes care of the lawn for me. He comes over and does it for me.

We live in an apartment and don't have to mow the grass but I have always loved mowing grass. My Dad taught me when I was young and it always brings back fond memories. Have a great day!! AT PEACE WITHIN

not as often as we should. we live well in the country so have a little more freedom in this regards, I suppose, than our city counterparts. We have a few acres and with the cost of gas we have just been cutting select areas and not everything. I actually like the look of the naturalized areas that we let grow, there are so many lovely wildflowers that took hold that we would not have been able to enjoy if we kept the areas all trimmed back.

i cut the grass at the back once a week too . :) i just use a grass trimmer. 15 mins and voila .. done! :) but i have to be careful coz the grass grow around my fruit trees and it needs manual pulling now and then. At the end of the day , i like the sweet smell of freshly cut grass. ^0_0^

This time of year our grass needs to be cut once a week. If not it gets very long and is hard on the mower. I can not do it anymore because of health problems and have our oldest child mow it. She grumbles the whole time but it only takes her 15 minutes at the most to do it because we now have a very small yard. Before we lived out in the country and had a riding mower and it took over an hour to mow all that grass.

We haven't had to do a whole lot of grass cutting this year. Our grass is like straw and is not growing at all. We haven't had enough rain this summer and even if we did have some over the last couple of weeks it would be way too late. The grass cannot be saved. I think in past years, however, that we probably mowed the lawn once a week or so. It is hubby's job and now has a little help from our 11 year old. But he does the whipper-snipping as it is too dangerous for the children. I don't think I have mowed the lawn since I moved out of my parents house. LOL! I used to do it all the time when I lived there, as a teenager. But after leaving I've either been with a man who does it or living in an apartment.

Although our lawn is not that large I do not mow it that often, maybe once a month or when it gets really tall. Our lawnmower is on it's last legs and I want to make sure that it will last until I can get a new one. Plus if you mow it too often it will dry out faster and be stressed so that insects can take over easier. I do not put fertilizer on the lawn because I like to do things organically. When I mow I let the cut grass just stay on the lawn and the earthworms will break it down for the grass to use again. We do have a pretty good lawn, better than the people that put chemical fertilizer on their lawns and take away the clippings. On top of that you cannot play on their grass because of all of the chemicals.

Hi there. During winter months, the grass here doesnt really grow that fast, we'd look at mowing every 4-5 weeks, but now we're moving into spring-summer months, my husband and our son, are going to have to mow the lawns more frequently, every 2-3 weeks...

I envy you, because I lived in a residential building, no yard plants, not to mention the lawn mowing, I have been hoping for a small yard and plant some beautiful flowers, idle time pruning nothing about the lawn, I feel this kind of life have fun.
