With the popularity of tattoos gaining daily, I was wondering how many people get a tattoo and later regret it? Do you know anyone who has a tattoo that they regret?

My ex husband regretted his so much that he had one on his wrist removed. Luckily, it was under his watch. He had a big round scar from it. He had several on his legs, but never would tell me what they represented. He regretted all of them.

HA HA, YES I DO!!! What makes this SO funny is when he got it I told him he was going to regret it and he told me I was stupid. My older brother, while happily married to a women he knew for 30 days, within 10 days after saying "I do" had her name tattooed across his back!!! I am not kidding, from shoulder to shoulder. Needless to say after she robbed him of every penny he had while in Iraq, which lead to their divorce, it's still there and you bet he regrets it. It's too funny to me and I love asking him one question..."Whose stupid?" HA!

The only person I know with a tattoo they regret is a friend of my cousin's. She did her own homemade tattoo when she was about 15 yrs old. As she got older the ink started to spread and now it just looks sort of like a faded black blob on her wrist. You really can't tell what it's supposed to be. She said it was a butterfly... ok! Everyone else I know who is tattooed, including myself, love them.

Hi there. My sister and I got tattoos, around the same time and back in the day and back then she loved her tattoo of an eagle, now she cant stand to have it, and complains, saying why did I ever get tattooed in the first place, shes gone and had laser treatment where again she complained at how painful it was and now she has half an eagle left, fearing how painful its going to be to get the rest of it lasered off... I have tattoos too and I love them, because they have meaning for me, otherwise I wouldnt have got them done...

Hi crazynurse! Oh I know someone who has a tattoo and now regrets it. He is my brother and was excited to show it to us the first time because he was in love and he had the name of the girl tattoed on his back and now he regrets it because it turned out the girl is not the love of his life. I guess, he did not regret having a tattoo what he regrets is the design of the tattoo. haha.. Take care and have a nice day!

I've only ever met a couple of people who regretted their tattoos. Both of them regretted getting them because they had an exes name tattooed on them, and both of them had to have extensive re-tattooing (with larger tattoos) to cover them up. (Personally, I think the only name you can't ever go wrong with in a tattoo is 'Mom' hahaha.) I have seen others at the hospital who had to get them removed because of their job requiring short sleeved shirts in the summer.

I don't know anyone that regrets ever getting a tattoo. Most people that I know, like their tattoos but who knows what will happen years from now when they get a little bit older.

A friend of mine, younger than me regretted having his tattoo. So he removed it by blade all by himself, to also show how regretful he was of having it. Now, he have scars on his shoulder. But he doesn't worry about it, because he knew that he did it for a "good" change.

most of the people I know who are tattooed are of the hardcore variety and have no regrets but having hung around the tattoo shop long enough I've seen a bunch of people come in looking for cover-ups so there is plenty of bad ink going around. The problem is that due to the current popularity a lot of "scratchers" are opening shops and doing their shoddy work because most people don't take the time to do their research to find a good shop or artist.

I know several people who have regretted their tatoos. As members of The Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints, we are counciled to not have tatoos. If someone already has them when they join the church, it is not condemed but we are not supposed to have then while we are members of the church. There are several who have joined the church and after they have been there for a while, they regret having their tatoos.

I have many customers at my pharmacy that are having treatments to remove tattoos...it seems more and more every day are opting for the removal...for some it is very easy and for some very difficult..Tattoos should be well considered before they are decided upon...I would say from experiences of close friends the more exposed the tattoo the more consideration should be given...lifestyles change and what seems great one year can become a burden over time. Careful consideration is the first decision in the process!!

No I really don't know of any but I'm sure going to watch the answers here. I don't have a tattoo and I never will but I wonder about women getting them. When you get old everything sags and I wonder what happens to the tattoo. Sounds pretty nasty to me. I've often wondered if older people do regret so this is interesting.
