Have you ever spilled coffee on your keyboard?

The other day I made the mistake of sitting my cup of coffee up on my computer table (next to my mouse cord) and then when I moved my mouse, it dumped right over onto my keyboard. I quickly unplugged it and haven't used it ever since. Right now I'm using one of the keyboards from my old computer. I'm worried that when I plug the other keyboard back in, it will short out. Does anyone have suggestions on how long I should let the keyboard dry out before trying to use it again? Can coffee or other liquids ruin a keyboard?

Keyboard - A colorful deck keyboard.
Yes I have spilled coffee on my keyboard before. What I did is I opened the keyboard, took out each keys and clean it all up with a wet rugs except for the board's chip. Then I dried them up using a blowdryer:-) No those liquids won't ruin your keyboard just make sure you clean and dry them out properly. If you wanna make sure its dry a day would be enough. :-)

i didn't spill coffee on my keyboard, but i spill milk on it, and i have to put it down, but the milk too ropy, and i have to put the key words in a basin and clean them with water. then set them back. now some of letters on my keyboard can't see anymore. but it works very well, so i don't want to change a new one, and what kind of keyboard is best? if i have to change a new one which should i buy, and i don't want to pay much money on it.

*laughs* No coffee but orange juice - yes! I was too carried out with something and spilled my orange juice! But it wasn't too much so I just used a wet towel to dry it up a bit and continued using it without any problem. Then I decided that I would never bring any liquid into my room again - what a hassle!
