Do you feel you need to compare to your peers?

Do you feel underqualified at times amoung some of your peers? Do you ever feel as though they think less of you because you don't hold a degree comparing to thiers? I have a few friends that took a different route than I did in life- one of the is a PH.D and the other an engineer. I remembering a conversation that I had with one of them about friends acting different around them now because of who they have become- and she asked me if I ever felt that she treated anyone different or as if she was better than anyone. That got me to thinking about my mylot family- what do you think of this type of situaiton? How do you feel amoung your peers that are further than you, so to speak, in life? I personally do not feel any differently when hanging with the two friends I mentioned above than hanging with my friends that hold jobs as waitreses or retail workers- I personally to the path in life that was right for me- as I feel they did too- so to me- we are all the same- no matter what letters are tacked to the end of your name :)

Parents always tend to make you feel as though you need to live up to someone elese expectations on the outside. I had many friends who had parents that were this way- had to keep up with the joneses...lol

I do not compare myself to anyone. If any 'so called' friends treat me differently then they re not my friends. You see,I am disabled and I no longer have a good income.I do know that when I was fighting for disability(took 6 yrs.)certain people treated me differently because chronic pain is invisible and to them,I did not usually look disabled.Actualy all my friends are 'further' than me. I do not care as I lead a very exciting life with no regrets.I have more 'life' expeience.LOL.

A life without regrets is a life indeed :) I too have no desire to be an overachiever like some of my friends have done. I am content working in the social service sector making a decent living and enjoying helping my community in the process!
