Cats have all kinds of nasty bacteria running about in their mouths. If it is a very deep bite you may have to go to the doctor for antibiotics. They gave my husband antibiotics when a feral kitten bit him.

As someone already said have your cat vaccinated. As for the injuries clean them up with soap. Cats are very territorial and they really choose an owner. Your cat is a male, I suppose. Males do that.

MAKE SURE your kitty has all his shots. then get a little jug of bactine antibiotic spray and when he scratches or bites, spray some on that. if you get red or signs of infection, go to the doc. go here: http://www.feelbach.com/pets.htm and check it out. you might could customize some of this amazing stuff for your kitty and get him calmed down. is he a kitten? squirt bottle will help too. if you can squirt him WHILE he's doing the bad behavior enough times, he'll figure it out. also, try and keep his nails trimmed. holler if you need more help ok? :-D

Not only rabies but there is also major germs under cats nails, that when scratched can cause infections, so if you get scratched it's probably best you wash the area immediately. That's often why when you're scratched by a cat there will be a red mark around the scratch itself, it's causing a reaction and if your body can't fight it off that's when problems can start.
