Left handed or Right handed? Which is the smarter of the two?

I have heard on several different occasions that left handed people are supposed to be smarter than right handed. I was curious as to your thoughts on this and how could they actually determine this? I don't think that I.Q. tests would work on determining this. Anyways, I am left handed, my dad is left handed, and my grandfather was left handed. State which hand you write with also!
