Shootings at Notting Hill Carnival

I really thought that there was no violence involving guns over the weekend at Notting Hill Carnival, West London, United Kingdom. But I have just looked on the net only to find out that there was 2 people that got shot, two people arrested for attempted murder. So why was this news not on the 10o'clock news last night. Is it because the authorities want it to look like they are dealing with gun crime and it isen't as much of a problem than it was? In the past they couldn't wait to put crimes like these on the news
