My Boss brushes her dogs teeth. I thought is was kind of funny, People actually brush their dogs teeth. Is that weird to you do you brush your dog's teeth? Today I went to work, and I had to take the dog out, I work for with this Handicapped Kid. and his dog. Today I had to shampoo the Dog, I had to take him out, and My boss told me to never let him off the least, well I should've listen to her. I let the dog go in an open field. He started rolling around in the grass, by the time he came back to me he had geese $hit all over him, so I had to give him a bath, I took the hose and watered him down, and shampooed him good, I have never shampooed a dog in My life. I just thought I would share this with you, you can see Parnell the dog and the Boy, the boys name is Chad. he even has a website the kid and his dog. chadsdog.com check them both out, He is a very smart dog. I told a few of my friends about The Boy and the dog. Ok, I will never take him off his leash again! Ok, have a nice eveing!

Oh Marcie, thanks for the laugh...geese $hit. I bet you don't let that dog off his leash anymore. No I have never brushed my dogs teeth. My dogs have always been just dogs. This dog is a working dog, I am sure they have alot of money and training invested in him. I love my dogs, they are family to me. They just have dog breath, thats better then smelling like geese $hit, haha. Only your Marcie.

I used to brush the dog's teeth not on a regular basis I am afraid. But I tried at least once a month. If you dont clean your dog's teeth, tartar and scales will be fixed to your dog's teeth and it willbe difficult to remove it. Then the teeth will decay.

I learned that dogs didn't have to brush the teeth because they had strong teeth and they are better than human beings' teeth. So their teeth won't go bad easily.

I brush both of my dog's teeth. I have two little pomeranians and was told that it was a good idea so that you avoid dental issues in the future. I feel better brushing their teeth, at least. But do I brush their teeth with a normal human toothbrush? Nooo. I have a pink My Little Pony toothbrush for my girl dog, and a blue Shrek toothbrush for my boy dog. It makes it fun, I guess.

Welcome to Mylot, you are on the right track, always write long just like this. That is really cute, blue and pink, for girl and boy dog, What do you brush their teeth with? Chicken flavor and veef flavored tooth-paste, that is what one person said, in first discussion. Thanks for responding.

Thank you very much for the kind response, Marcia ^_^. I'm glad to hear that I am on the right track with my first post. I thought the idea of the blue and pink were cute as well, and I'm lucky that my dogs allow me to brush their teeth with them. Their pomeranians, so their very hyper dogs! I brush their teeth with a beef flavor toothpaste called Petrodex Enzymatic. My vet told my mom and I that it was best to get a toothpaste that was 'Enzymatic' because it would help with the plaque or something. I try to brush their teeth every other day, but because their little and I don't want them to digest too much of the toothpaste, I aim for at least a couple of times a week!

I have heard that you should brush a dog's teeth. But I have never done it. I can't imagine even trying it. We do buy those dog biscuits that are supposed to be good for their teeth.

Yup. I brush my dog's teeth. They can get really really bad cavaties and it can really affect their life if they get infections in their mouths.

I do not brush my dog's teeth, but my aunt used to brush her dog's teeth! The dog loved having its teeth brushed. Vets actually say that we should brush our dog's teeth, afterall, they get caries, gingivitis and other mouth/teeth disorders jsut as humans do. I suppose one would have to start the habit of brushing when the dog was a pup...as to try and do it out of the blue to an adult dog could have disasterous outcomes!

When I was a kid yes I brush the teeth of my dog. Its because I want her to have fresh breath. I bought toothbrush just for my dog and her own toothpaste too. But now taht I am old, I do not do it any more. Maybe I realized that Im acting weird doing that. and i dont know if there is effect on my dog. :P If anyone here can something good or bad about it, then it will be greatly appreciated.

I dont really have a dog. But, i am pretty sure that if i had one, i would give him a bath and yes i would brush his teeth also. If not everyday then at regular intervals. Because dogs are also living things and they deserved to be taken care of. And since they are our pets. Their care becomes our responsivility.

no I don't brush my dogs teeth but I use to have an older dog and his teeth started to fall out and he refused to eat soft food. The vet suggested that I give him a special dog food that helped with his teeth health. It worked but it makes sense b/c if your beloved pet loses his teeth and cant eat you will lose them but there are products that you can feed them to help out if you dont want to actually take a brush and brush their teeth. i will check out the website.

Welcome to Mylot, ok, please do. That dog is so good, he know 42 commands, when I take him out for a ealk, he will touch the button with his nose to open the door, it is an automatic door you use a key or push a button. he will pick up jets for you, he does alot. turn off light switches.

Being lazy, I did not brush my dog's teeth. I gave her an old ham bone or old soup bone, and she could take care of it nicely by herself, thank you. We figured if she ran around the house, jumped on furniture and chewed on my shoes and purses, I was not going to take even on of my old toothpastes and brushed her teeth. Besides what toothpaste would I use. And when we gave her a bath, we fill the bathtub part dog height and washed her in it. Had to use at least four towels to get her dry and she looked like a scrawny rat. Of course, we cleaned the bathtub afterwards, but she was a small dog.

My mom brushes her dog, Daisy's teeth, sometimes. Her breath, for being such a small dog, has horrible breath. So, she uses beef flavored toothpaste for her. It doesn't smell that bad.

I guess it is a good idea, although I have never heard of a doggy dentist or a dog getting a cavity. I may be possible. And since they say now that oral problems in humans can cause heart disease, maybe it is the same for dogs. I have heard of brushing a dogs teeth, but I have never personally done it. I think this is for people who are head over heels in love with their dogs.

Dogs - Puppies playing on the lawn.
Yes I do brush my pet dog's teeth. Just like us their teeth also need to be protected from cavities and it keeps them healthy also. Also your dogs breath will smell good. :-)

I have never brushed my dog's teeth. I am not quite sure if she would stay put and let me do that. She is really energetic, and doesn't like grooming, bath, mouth pills and vitamins, or medicine in eyes and ears. I usually force her to do all these. Well, about her teeth I would have have a serious problem. She could accidentally bit me, in an efford to get away. I don't know..i think dog chews or dental sticks and some dog toys do all the necessary teeth cleaning.
