What do you consider when trying to get a roommate.

I would like to get a room mate in a spare bedroom and was wondering what d you look for when advertising for a room mate. I live with my girlfriend and we are wondering if we should try to get a female room mate or either a man or a women. It would be to try and keep our rent down to a manageable amount but am wondering if it would be best to advertise for a female room mate or not. What would you do.

To find a good roommate is a very important matter, I will now and my roommate lived together, he is very interesting, but also very gracefully, and I feel very happy with him.

I have never had a roommate. Funny I should read this now, when I just finished reading the following discussion about a nightmare someone had with a roommate.

I live with my fiance, but that's a little bit of a different situation. When we were not together, I refused to live anywhere, unless I could afford to pay for the place myself!
