Looking For Ideas

Hey, anyone out there have inexpensive ideas on how to create window treatments from using the fabric on the throw pillows that came with my sofa?. When I purchased my new living room furniture it came with 6 pillows that were included. My windows are now bare, just using the mini blinds. Someone told me that I could take the fabric from the pillows and do my own valance, but what they didn't know is what I could use to cover the fabric with. So I'm open for idea's. Give me a holler if there's anything you can do to help.
