Can my husband stop maintence for our child for no reason and bring him some food instead?
He says he can and he will do this.

Tell your husband that courts in the U.S. do not consider anything except money to be child support. Also tell him that hurting a child is no way to act like a man! Get court-ordered support right away! Keep complete records of everything he does and does not provide for the child - money, food, clothes, toys, everything! Also keep records of when he visits the child, if he's on time, how long he stays, and so forth.

If there is court ordered child support then he has to pay it.
