If you ever started reading chapter two of 'the thirty-nine steps' by John Buchan and put the book down I'd be surprised. It is so interesting you'll find it hard to put down without reading to the end. And one commendable thing about it is that it is a small volume, readable by the average reader, not the huge volumes that need a lot of struggle to manage. But brace yourself for a slow start(chapter one). But it soon becomes very interesting.
