This is another example of how our companion animals are intelligent. It is a shame that people abuse and on a regular basis try to devalue their life. From helping the handicap to the quiet comfort they give us, our lives are better off, by far, with them as our companions, not as our property.

Yes dogs are intelligent and trained for almost anything to help us people, that's why their considered man' best friend. I love dogs and is always amazed when I see such things they do. I agree with you that we should treat them as friends not just something we own. :-)

Yes animals are much smarter than most people are willing to admit or believe. They also deserve much better treatment from their humans. My husband and I are a member of our local horse rescue and you would not believe the condition (and in some cases injuries) that horses come to the rescue in simply due to neglect, abuse, and lack of care. It is really sad.
