Who's looking forward to the movie "Dale" next week? For anyone who hasn't heard about it, it's "The story of an American Legend", Dale Earnhardt Sr. on CMT next Tuesday night. I know I'm excited about it. I think it's about time a movie like this came out, I enjoyed "3" but thought it was a bit overly dramatized in some parts...I mean did we really need the image of Dale in the honeymoon scene! And just out of curiosity, what other drivers do you think should get their own movie (if any)?

I saw the commercial for that the other day while watching the Bristol race.I'm sure it'll be fun to watch as anything to remind us of EARNHARDT always is. I don't know much about it though for instance,Who produced it and why? To answer the second part about who else should get a movie,I think there are two families that would make great docudrama's one being the PETTY"S and the other being the ANDRETTI's.Both family's are legendary in the sport of automobile racing and continues for generations to come.

I got this off the link for it www.dale.cmt.com...which I didn't find until after I started the discussion. Narrated by Paul Newman, this 90-minute documentary provides the most accurate presentation of Dale Earnhardt's career and life. This moving tribute is told through archival race footage, never-before-seen family home videos and interviews with Earnhardt himself. His fiercest competitors and most avid fans share memories of him on the track, and his closest family members and friends give insight to the man behind the Intimidator persona. The film Dale illustrates the depth of his influence in the racing world and beyond. Produced with the support and endorsement of Richard Childress Racing plus the Earnhardt family, corporation and team, Dale is a must-see movie for every fan. Before the movie there will be a one hour special "Dale Pre-show: His Greatest Comeback" hosted by Brooks and Dunn You are so right about the Petty's and Andretti's. I was never personally a fan of any of them but I know how great of an influence they had and continue to have. I think a movie about the France's and how NASCAR got started in the first place would be pretty good too.

I am anxiously waiting to see the movie "Dale" on Tuesday night, it just so happens I do not have to work that night. And as for others whom I think should get their own movie, anyone who has been influential in the sport of NASCAR, in fact it would be cool if they would do a documentary of all of the founding fathers of NASCAR and the most influential drivers of all time, if you ask me that is.

Yay! A perfect time for a night off! You know what I thought was strange though...my s/o is also off but just seemed like "whatever" about watching it with me...and he's the one that insisted we give our oldest boy DALE for a middle name! I don't know, maybe stuff like this is still hard on him...I know I seem to share this pic a lot but here it is again just to show how influential Dale was/is on my s/o... I have seen a documentary about the founding of NASCAR including its moonshining roots, the first Daytona Beach races and pictures from the first meetings that formed "NASCAR". It was really cool but it was made for one of those "off" channels so I doubt many people saw it. I wish they would do one that was more mainstream and maybe even put out in theaters.
