My cousin in the US suffers depression. He cries for no reason, very quiet, and his mom is scared that he might commit suicide. He doesn't want to go to the doctor so that no proper prescription is given to him. He needs help, his mother's job suffers because she has to watch my cousin all the time. Any tips on what to do? I'll tell my Aunt. Thanks...

Hi Ricko82! :) I know that this kind of thing is really hard to deal with. I can understand the concern of your aunt, because I too have been in a similar situation 2 years ago. Your aunt really has to spend time with your cousin, or if she doesn't want to let her work get affected, there should be a close friend or family member to watch over with your cousin. At this point, he needs 101% attention. Listen to his frustrations. Listen to his cries and pains and sufferings. It will be in due time that he'll go to the doctor. But for now, your aunt can go to doctors and inquire about the right prescription for people suffering with such. Prayers also help, too! These are your BEST medicine. All the best for your aunt and cousin. Take care always and God bless! \(",)_

Thank you! I'm glad to meet someone here that have strong faith in God. We never stop praying. But my cousin can't afford extra help for my cousin. I told my aunt to get prescription from the doctors but the doctors won't give one unless they see my cousin. I hope he gets well. Thanks...

She has to make him go to the doctor. That is the only thing that can help him.

Please give this site a look: www.nami.org. It should provide you with a lot of helpful information. I am very glad your cousin has family who cares so much about him.
