Now we try to play with him and let him hear some songs and videoke to provide him some speech improvement. now upon doing this now he can talk straight but too much to talk can stop him. hahaha!

I noticed my friend's son is also speech delayed. He is 4y/o now. He is attending school but hates to go to school. We also thought that he is autistic.

i think first you should let him play first dont push your kids to school, seek a tutorial class that give him his interest, at that age kids develop their motorskills.

well i think it is in their mouth or brain. that depends, i just do not know the answer regarding to this question. but since they are still young you can teach them and let them exercise not to be delayed when speaking..... things can still be changed its not too late. kids are still young you can still fix it...just continue on speaking to them not to be delayed.

My brother is like that, he can't say a word as complete as a whole and with substance, but thank God he overcome it. Now he is good in english, and he is very talkative.

Hi there. My brothers son has a speech inpediment, where he can only say a couple of words, and they're not very clear when he tries... At the same time, hes 6 years old and his parents dont help, because they actually talk like a baby or half english to him, so hows he going to learn anyway... He speaks good when we have him though... Good for you on going the extra step to provide some help for your son... Thats what my brother and his wife should be doing, all they can for there child...

My son's speech delay is one of the reasons that we had him assessed for Autism. Now he's classified as "non-verbal" because he doesn't really speak at all. He repeats things you say to him and things from movies (they call it echo lalia), but doesn't really say much on his own. THe things he does say aren't very well enunciated. Please is pwees, thank you is bankoo, I love you is either li lu loo or i yuvoo. Then there's things like hold on which he says as oh my (it took me awhile to figure that one out).

well you wanted him to develop his speech skill now he's showing you how he made it :P anyway, i got niece that was delayed of speech..she just talks like chinese to some alien we cannot understand..she talks words but not much but it has nothing to do with autism..what we did is just let her watch children shows in the morning and bought her some CD's for children to develop her speaking skills..so far so good..she's a smart girl talking now.
