I was wondering what people thought of priests/bishops etc being ordained who are gay. I personally don't have a problem with it but there has been a lot of debate recently and I was wondering about myLotters views!

I say all the power to them! Why shouldnt gays/lesbians or bisexuals for that matter be allow to be ppl of the cloth so to speak? Their desire to spread the word and guide others is no less valid or strong than that of a hetero so I dont see what the big deal is....other than the fact that ppl like to whine, carry on and make a big production out of nothing ;-)

Homosexuality is a sin and no one should be a leader of a church and be a homosexual. It is wrong and the Word of God clearly says it is. God bless.

I'm glad to see that gay people are being ordined. I'm so tired of crazy right ringers saying we're out to ruin religion. Every time I see a non-heterosexual becoming a member of the clergy; I smile.

i am not agaqisnt Gays pese however It is not appropriate for them to hold office in the church its true God loves the sinner while hating the sin and according to scripture the act of homosexuality is a sin this does not mean we are to hate gays in fact we are to love them but the sin in and off itself is something else it is the act we must hate aND NOT THE PERSON

Although I am very much open minded & think no one should be discriminated based on really anything (except maybe on the basis that they're an a$$hole). When it comes to churches, they are & should remain able to make their own rules. If a church feels being gay is a sin, that church shouldn't have to change their rules to accomadate someone. Church is not a democracy, it's rules based on their beliefs of what God wants. If your church thinks you are a sinner, why would you stay in that church? Catholic priests would be an exception- gay or straight shouldn't matter as their rules are that clergy must remain abstinent. Whatever gender you find attractive should become a non-issue as you're forbidden to act on it regardless.

Okay, first of all, people who sit in judgement of others need to re-examine their own lives and views. I am WITH a pastor who is gay and fears that, if out, will be prosecuted as I have seen from a few of the likes who said homosexuality is a sin. Have those of you who do see only black and white not understand that every person deserves rights in all ways and should not be judged by the blind or narrow minded in us? There is a lot of discussion on this subject and being gay/lesbian is NOT a choice. Just as the one person said that they did not choose to be straight! Why is that so hard to see? being who you are, being true to yourself and being good to yourself and those around you should be all that matters. unfortunately, the people who take every word from the bible literally with no opinion/thought whatsoever are the ones who are condemning before knowing!
