Why do I see points taken off from my total on MyLot?

When I logged in today I saw that I had less posts, from 281 I was now with 279, and an hour or so later these were 277. Weird, or is this what happens when the discussion where you have responded to gets deleted? I am not thrilled by it exactly, but I guess there is nothing we could do about it. Were many of your points taken off?

That's what happens when discussions you respond to get deleted. It's sad, because it's not like it's your fault. I do my best to avoid discussions that I know break the rules, so I pretty rarely see my points go down, but once in a while a religious discussion that gets too heated makes me lose points. Also sometimes if I reply to discussions in order to help newbies I'll wind up losing points. I guess I haven't lost enough that I felt seriously upset over it.

And yes, I also try not to pertake in any discussion that might get deleted, except for sometimes that my answer comes so spontaneously that I dont really care it might get deleted. And these mostly are to new people 's discsuuions on MyLot. So I am not really upset but puzzled ;)

*nods* That happens to me too. Sometimes I even reply to a discussion I'm pretty sure will be deleted, if it's a newbie that really seems to need an answer to something. I've made some friends that way. =)
It can be hard sometimes to avoid discussions that can be deleted too. I even had one deleted once, and I'm still not sure what it was about it that caused it to be deleted. It was basically a discussion asking people who bought products from a certain company what I should order from them, just what scents they liked and things. I think that's the only one I've had deleted though, and I've been here since January.

I also avoid discussions that I feel will be a possible deleted one. I don't like seeing my hard work going downwards instead of upwards.

I have seen a drop in a couple points but not many. I learned to avoid topics that break rules because they will get deleted. I don't want to waste my time with a topic that will not be there long and noone will be able to read my response and I won't be able to keep my points. So if it is a topic breaking rules just ignore the topic and not waste your time. Good luck!

Hi Vicky, and thanks for dropping by ;) Yes, certainly I am trying to foresee the fture and when a discussion doesnt look good to me I don't reply on it, but 5 points weren't that many for a month's time, so no problem after all, I was just puzzled yesterday from it. Points and earnings are deducted from members when a discussion the started, responded to or added comments to were deleted. Sometimes it is also just the members comment or discussion was deleted so they are the only one that loses points. It happens to the best of us here. I've lost my share.

Oh really? It never happen on me here in mylot.
And in some points, Mylot is not deleting any discussions here, (i think) i am not sure about it.
Maybe you just missed it, i mean maybe you thought that your last points was 281 but actually it's 271.. how's that?
I never experience here in mylot that ive lost some of my points.
You're the first person here that i've heard about that issue.

Than you must be one of the lucky few who never get any points taken :) and I am definitely sure about the count I had and how much points were taken off. Read the rest of the replies and you'll see that it has happened to almost everybody at one point or another ;)

Hi there. The same thing happen to me last night, as I found out this morning, I had 5 posts missing... I read a response from someone, saying that sometimes discussions are we respond too, have been deleted, and If we had responded to that same discussion, ours also gets deleted...

Hi Nardz13, and thanks for responding. Yes, we should be dfoing just fine the way we are doing as 5 points in a month is not that much, after all, one could never know beforehand that a discussion will get deleted, unless it is definitely against the TOS here.

I think it is unreasonable that mylot doesn't let us know why our points taken off but mylot is just a new website and it may be perfected someday,so at that time we may know how it runs

Hi Emmahuang, well, they actually do tell in their TOS that if a discussion gets deleted, or a person you have brought in the program unsubscribes you loose all the points and money from it too. But is MyLot a new program really? I thought it was at least an year old?

OK it's quite often happened to me that such way. And sometimes myLot put back on its track. Don't worry and be happy....and I think I'm the most who experienced that.
