Well I started a discussion 5 days ago about me attempting to make my own pickles from my cukes in my garden. Most asked me to keep them informed. Here is a smple picture of the pickles. I felt like a professional photographer as I took maybe 15 shots moving things around until I felt I had just the right picture with the content and view that looked tasty and or appealing to me. Anyhow on with my story etc. Well without using any type of recipe or even looking at one I added the water, vinegar, onions, galic cloves, and many unkown egyptian spices. I did not use cold water as a soak as I was told by a friend here in life but let me say this....I tried a few today and Ummmmm. Ahhhhhh. Mmmmm. Soooo so so tasty. I only wished I could share the taste with each and everyone of you here on mylot. But alas they won't last that long I am sure as my dad also loved them. He also said it was the first time he has ever had homemade pickles. So that made me feel even better about my accomplishment in this area. So next year I think I will be planting one or two pickling variety of cucumbers. Thanks all. I need a few more of these delicious, crunchy, tasty little homemade pickles. be back after I get a belly full. HAHAHA!!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

webeishere (3872) Subject: Tasty & Homemade to boot If I'm just 5 miles from your home, definitely I'm the one who will rush to your home and get the taste before you. Your voice texts for "Ummmmm. Ahhhhhh. Mmmmm" really make my stomach in greedy hungry......Yeah..Yeah...please prepare another one special for me with your new impromptu menu. For your cucumber...yea...please be faster...I need it, even thoug you hate me for begging.... cut into small-thin slices...for my eyeballs...to soothe it with cucumber as always having long hours butts-on and peeping with members' discussion on myLot. Small help but big results.......Ten-Q, my Grandpa Bob!!!!!! Wishing you good luck and good look.....we rock together .....while riding different American Chopper....we cross all states in US....don't worry and be happy.. 10Q 10Q 10Q 10Q

Everything homemade tastes better than store bought. They were very easy to make. Just a guess at the amounts of spices etc that I added as I didn't use a recipe. Oh I picked a lot more cucumbers this afternoon and will make a lot more.

These look so good. I love the combination of ingredients you chose to pickle them. And even your Dad ate them. You will end up being a cook, as well as a photographer & writer on the internet! I rated your photo & wrote a comment.

Ohhhh, I love homemade pickles. Both of my grandmothers used to make homemade pickles. One made the dill type while the other made what she called 'bread and butter' pickles. YUM!! I am supposed to watch my sodium so I have had to cut back on my dill pickles...and I really miss them! Kudos to you for 'going for it' and trying something new! With that green thumb of yours, I'm sure you have to search for a way to use all the bounty!

I love to make homemade pickles and usually do every year I have a garden. This year's pickles will be slim it got too hot for most of them but I do have one plant left so I am hoping sometime soon the flowers will stay and grow something for me.

Now don't eat too many GRANDPA BOB or you might get more than just a belly full...LOL I can just imagine the taste though...nothing beats homegrown produce to begin with, and certainly not homemade pickles or anything else for that matter...Hey can you ship some over??
