Now that they have been in circulation a while, what is your opinion of the new dollar coins? Do you like them? Do you think they will ever replace the dollar bill?

I doubt the new dollar coins will ever replace bills. Coins are very heavy, and usually coins tend to be replaced by paper bills. I think many people will not like these new dollar coins because they have omitted "In God We Trust." I am not ignorant enough to believe that everyone believes in God or that everyone in this country trusts in Him. I know they do not. It is very obvious to me. However, I personally think it is a serious trend in this country of late to try to erase God's Name from everything, such as: courthouses, the Supreme Court building, prayers in schools, the Pledge of Allegiance's line "under God indivisible," and now, new dollar coins. So, no, I don't like them. I don't think they have a chance of replacing bills which weigh much less in our pockets.

I am not impressed. The stores really don't even want them. I don't think that they will replace the dollar. They are heavier to carry and deal with.

I think its sad that they dont say in God we trust. I dont really think I like them or what they have done by making this change. I think that should have been voted on and left up to the people as a majority to vote on....

Oh really I didn't know you have the dollar coin. I'd love to see it. We've had the dollar coin in Canada forever and also the two dollar coin. We no longer have one and two dollar bills. I hate all that change in my little wallet but I'm afraid it's here to stay.

I think there a waste and should of never been made. Ever since theyve been made ive only seen one or two of them in my life which shows how popular they are. I work at a grocery store and ever since I have been there no one has ever used one of them. I also thought they were done with which is why I never thought of them but this will never be popular as the dollar bill.

Gee, I haven't even seen one yet. I can see where the government would want to replace the paper with something sturdier and longer lasting, but geez, I can't imagine having a bunch of those in my purse! I don't know whether they will go over big with the public or not, they're just a lot of extra weight to carry compared to bills. I don't think I'm going to really like them, and will probably change them over to bills when I get them.

I like the new coins. I like how they are always different from the old ones. I like looking at different coins once in awhile.

Not for me no, they are heavier to carry and easier to lose. So I don't really like them. The kids do, it's shiny, LOL. But I don't. If we go to the post office and use the machine to buy stamps. Even if you have a $20.00 bill, it gives you change in those darn things. I then walk around w/jingling pockets cause 9 out 10 times, I don't bring my purse. So I have learned I don't like them compared to the bills.
