I have only rose bushes, as I am not much of a gardener. I replaced one early this year and it was the only one that bloomed. Bright, light orange. It was beautiful and stll has roses on it. The other three didn't fare so well, even put Miracle Gro on them. I may have trimmed them down too far for the winter, before I covered them. I hope I have better luck with them next year.
I do have a potted Esperanza plant on my deck. She is beautiful. Vibrant yellow flowers.
How did your garden do? Have any pics to share?

Oh mine didn't do well at all, the lack of rain and time to tend to it, was the two main reasons. We didn't get that much rain this year, and the tempts were high enough cook anything that grew. Just about all the lawns around here are brown from it. Then time, I didn't get the time to weed and take care of it all this year. So it didn't do too good at all.
Oh well there is always next year I reckon.

Most of my plants did well this season but,I am disappointed in my rose bush.I purchased this particular variety called:"PLAY BOY",to place in the garden.
When I bought it the petals were a nice orange color with a hint of yellow in the center that made for a beautiful contrast with the other plants and flowers growing around it.Now it only blooms a reddish shade .I don't know if it's because the soil may be too acidic or what.

We are in such a drought this year, my poor flowers and bushes are struggling to stay alive I'm afraid. My lone rose bush is doing well, such beautiful and fragrant blooms. I felt bad for one bush and mowed it down b/c animals or something were destroying it, but the thing is trying to come back, it's amazing. We have had some rain the last couple of days so the grass is greening up and growing but my flowers still don't look as nice as I wanted them too. I think my plants will look forward to the time when I prune them back for the winter. Great discussion by the way.
