What is up with the camera work?

I'm am watching today's episode of As The World Turns and I am finding the camera work weird, almost like they are on remote like when they were in Branson. The camera is moving with the actors instead of different angle shots being taken.
Am I the only one noticing this? Do you think this is permanent? I'm finding it a little distracting but I suppose I could get used to it.

So patgalca, I haven't watched that soap in several years but I couldn't let you go down with no responses! I have noticed other shows using this kind of camera work lately. I think it's their very weird way to "compete" with the reality shows. I find it awkward and distracting too.

It's weird because when a character moves, the camera jiggles until the character is centre screen. It looks like over-the-shoulder remote cameras rather than those planted on vehicles keeping the camera still. I only watch the Bold and the Beautiful and a bit of the Young and the Restless and I haven't seen this kind of camera work except when they go on location.

Wow I lost some letters there... I meant to say SORRY patgalca! Anyway...that isn't quite what I was picturing and does seem really strange. I have no explanation for that kind of camera work...maybe they had to hire new inexperienced camera men?
