It's Gripe Friday

Our local radio host has Gripe Friday. Callers call into the program with their gripes and groans. Thought we should have one here. I'm annoyed. For months, I've been having problems with my bank account. I go to the bank, speak with a customer service representative, tell them my problem, and they work their magic on their computers and tell me my problem is fixed. But when I go home to log on to my account, I see the problem is not fixed. It usually takes me a long time to go back in to try and get the problem resolved, because I'm usually so irritated or I just don't have the time. Emailing gets me nowhere. Nor does calling the customer service line. So yesterday I went to the bank with another problem. My bank was overdrawn, due to some unexplained charges, so I had my debit card stopped. They issued me a new one. I complained about the original problem to the branch manager. I said I wasn't leaving until I could personally log into my account from there. I was able to do it, and I left satisfied. So today I had to run to the store to get some essentials. I had no cash on me. Before going to the store, I called the bank to make sure my debit card was activated. I was assured that it had been activated at the bank yesterday, that I didn't have to do anything. I went to the store. My card did not work. The clerk tried several times with no success. Immediately I called the bank and told whomever answered that I couldn't use my card even though someone assured me it was automatically activated. I was put on hold, then the representative came back saying that the new card was never added to my account. I was transferred twice and both times I complained and also threatened that if this problem is not resolved NOW, I would be closing my account. Eventually, I got my card activated, but I can only use it at an ATM machine. It'll take 24-48 hours before I can use it as a debit card. It took care of my immediate need, but I'm still thinking about switching banks. Thanks for reading this rant. It's Gripe Friday. What bugs you today?

The cat catching the cat catcher - Is your significant other cheating on you ?
Very good topic if I don't say so myself! Well my gripe is that: I didn't stay over at work last night so I could go home cook a good dinner and wash my hair. Well my husband is working late, so 8pm finally shows up, I fall asleep, I wake up again around 11pm and he is gone again, but in my truck! So, he has taken my cell phone, because his has no minutes. So, this morning he is sleeping late because his @ss drags in about 1 am this morning and I go and sneak and look in his wallet! Well some girls ID falls out and I pick it up! So later I ask him about it I tell him I found it in my truck. He says what I can't give someone a ride? By the way his wallet was empty!~~~~~~This cat catcher will catch that cat catcher!!

Sorry Janice! Spouses can be a bit...difficult. You should try something like hiding your keys if you have a feeling he's gonna steal your truck again. Of course thats only the tip of your iceberg. You can give your hubby the benefit, but now you know to REALLY keep a close eye on him. I'm sure this isn't over, keep your guard up. Oh yea, happy hunting!

The gander caught the cat catcher - How someone treats you is how you treat them right back
okay, well now it's Monday after having the weekend off, I go find 'ole girl and her and I went back and forth to the Casino all weekend, So finally at 6pm he says party over. And everything is back to all good again. He cooked a fantastic dinner last night if I don't say so myself. Thank you for best results as well. I new that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. He was mad as heck, but couldn't say anything about it.

I am so sorry! I'd be hopping mad. I agree with hiding the keys. I'd also get a pitbull attorney. Let me know how everything works out.

I say change banks too! That is ridiculous that they are giving you this much hassle! What's bugging me? Well, you could check out my discussion on "What's up with teenagers?" to see a whole bunch of things that are bugging me. To add to all of that, someone hacked into our computer and sold my s/o's best stocks. The company he uses for that is investigating though and has promised to correct it once they know it wasn't him that authorized the sale. I'm using a different one now because we have no idea what else may have been compromised.

Sorry to hear that foxy. Oh yea and I've still had no other luck finding the triple wedding ring design, sans for the final websites on that post I sent. Yea be careful online cause even a trusted website can have malicious code on it. Its better to get a go between to modify your browser so it can only mess with temporary and internet folders and nothing else. Or browse on a limited account so there isn't that much room for backdoor attempts (drop my rights works too).

I prefer credit unions over banks. Banks are in it for the profit while credit unions are there for the members since the members are owners as well. I totally understand what you have gone through. I dealt with something similar with a bank. Oy!

Thanks for the post. I don't have any experience with credit unions, but now I'm going to check them out. Thanks.

No, I haven't talked to anyone higher than the branch manager. I doubt it would do any good. I'm researching other banks. I'm definitely switching. Sorry about your experience with the credit card company. Hope things look up for you! Thanks for posting...

Sorry about your bank issue, but things like that happen. I know it should be better (mine activated as soon as I ATMed didn't have a problem at all). Well since I don't have much bugging me in the forefront I'll bow out of this part of the thread. I will however read other responses in this thread.

Thanks for contributing, even if you don't have a gripe. You've been so kind to everyone. Thank you again.

I'm sorry you hate your life right now. I would be upset, too, if I had to do homework over the holidays. I think a holiday should be a holiday. But while you're in school, please be the best you can be. Maybe now you don't know how important school is, or will be, but the better you do now...Oops sorry! I should have put this on my Lecturing thread. LOL! I wish you the best. Glad you feel better after venting.
