Who do you consider to be the most famous person alive born in your country?

Mmmm...that is interesting. I come from Australia and I would probably say the most famous is Rupert Murdoch, the global media executive. Although he is now an American citizen, he was actually born in Australia. I was also going to say Nicole Kidman, but then I remembered that although she grew up in Australia and is considered an Australian actress, she was actually born in Hawaii!

Maybe we should tell each other who is the most famous person in their country, from our country's perspective (sometimes it's hard to know which of your compatriots is famous outside your own shores). This is just leading up to saying that Bindy Irwin is the most famous Australian in the US right now. :)

I remember other cases of famous artist born in other countries but raised in Australia. It's the case of the Bee Gees and I think that also of Mel Gibson.

I would say that the most famous person alive today that was born in my country would be our current President of the United States, George W. Bush. I mean, who doesn't know of him?
