I've recently studying about Genetic mutation at school. I wish to know that if our Genes or chromosomes are mutated is it possible that we gain extraordinary powers like those in X-men? Anyone is a genetic engineer please explain it to me.

am it already exists, im speaking from experience but nothing on the scale on x men. so far it is theorised that mental abilities will be the next step. but lie i said i already withnesed this. its from the use of the parts of the human brain tat is inactive for most ppl it is 9.8% of our brain but in others it is higher and in regions far away from the regions used for everyday tasks. hope i helped.

I am talking about genes not brain usage. I know that many ppl through meditation or something had already control some parts of human brain function like telepathy(i saw it somewhere on TV, discoveries or national gerography...) but Mutants differes in gene arrangement on the alleles. Theory of Evolution said that genes change with time and environment althought many religions don't agree with that. But i dun think it is wrong that we do evolve with time and environment. Looks at pigs. The wild one and the tame one. They give u some ideas?

I think that genetic mutations would results in many variations in the traits and attributes of humans, but I think that our gene pool is still not varied enough to reach the drastic mutations that we see in the X-Men, although I think one should never rule out that passibility.

I think someday ppl can modify their own genes. Thats why i am studying Biotech at University now.
