Wow... I Can't Contain Myself At The Pledge Of A Wonderful Gift For My Craft.

I'm excited, to say the least, as I've been pledged a set of hand-made, wooden runes, in a pouch, together with hand-written meanings, by a close friend, who's also Wiccan.
Wow, wow!!! I can't wait for the next two weeks to pass, so that I can cast them!!! He's going to get them checked over by an expert first, to make sure they're just right.
Do any other of my friends in the Craft cast runes and how have your results been? I'm so excited, I'm up and down all the time, checking the date. ha ha ha. I often work with Tarot cards, candles, gemstones, my pendulum and scrying bowl, but this is something new for me, and the fact that he made them, himself, makes them even more special.
Please come join in my excitement and tell me of your experiences with the runes. Woohoo, yeah yeah! :)

I am so happy for you as I can be and as I answer this from email I dont see them yet so I am not sure what they are but since they have mad eyou so excited I will jump for joy for you waaaaaahhooooooooooo

aw yes a very good discription! and I did think it was something like that. which people throw bones to read futures with?
or is bone throwing just a game of some sort?
I hope your Runes help you out withwhat ever you want to do with them hugs and blessings

Well Darkwing honey you know that your beliefs are different from mine but I wish you a lot of happiness when you get your runes! I have no stories about them - I have heard of them but am very unclear about what you do with them! No matter I know you are excited about this and you know I only want your happiness! xxx

Thank you, Mummymo. That's very understanding of you. If only all people in the World were that understanding of each other's beliefs, I'm sure there would be a lot less war and a lot more love. Sobeit; that's just not going to happen, but it makes no difference, as we all know where we should be and we'll continue on the path which suits us, huh?
I am indeed very excited about receiving the runes, especially as they've been made by hand, for me, even down to collecting the wood. :) I didn't have any idea that it was being done, until he asked me one night how I'd feel about the gift. Needless to say, I took his arm off!!! ha ha ha. But, he will be gifted in return, as per our beliefs.

Thank you, Hoghoney. Yes, it will be a great joy to have them.
I don't "mess" with them, as you call it... they are in fact, a very large part of my beliefs and my path, even though I haven't cast them yet. I've had a certain amount of success with other methods of divination and these are going to be the icing on my cake, my friend.
However, having said all that, unless you're well read, serious about divination and have the ability to understand what the runes and other tools say to you, then it could be slightly dangerous to "mess". You need to be protected from all negativities whilst practicing any sort of divination, for which we have a rigid and regular procedure, so I applaud you in that you haven't tried something which you're not sure about.

That's fantastic Darkwing! I'm thrilled for you! What a wonderful gift. You have a special friend indeed.
I'm not a Wiccan but I was studying Wicca and also Witchcraft when I found my path to be Pantheism. I believe that we all can focus and draw on the power of the Universe in many ways and that this is perfectly natural and logical since we are all part of this Universe. I also believe that anyone can do this but that some are just more open to it than others.
I personally find my best focus and drawing power comes from some combination of crystals, scents and candle meditation. I have one particular crystal that draws energy particularly well for me. I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis so I lose a lot of my energy from being in constant pain but the crystal and meditation can really give me a boost when I need it. It's infinitely better to do it this way instead of being an energy "vampire" drawing it from other people! When I started studying Wicca and Witchcraft I found out that's exactly what I was doing (unconsciously of course) and I paid a terrible price for it and so did a few people who are close to me. So now I know how to focus my draw on the infinite power of the Universe without harming anyone around me or myself.
Wicca and Paganism holds a very dear place in my heart and I think that's what draws me to you and others here on myLot who, though we may have chosen various way to walk on our paths, the paths themselves basically the same.
I truely share your excitement and anticipation Darkwing and I know that since they will be made specifically for you that you will be able to have a wonderful experience with them. YEAH!

Yes, it is certainly a wonderful gift and he is a very dear friend. I agree it's not good to draw on the energies of others, as for one thing, it drains them, and for another, it just might affect the way you are. I heard of somebody did that once, and she and her friend almost completely changed characters, or took over the characters of each other. A dangerous game to play. However, I think we can draw from the energies of other "beings" and also, as you say, the Universe. In fact, that's what we need to do.

..I share with your enthusiasm and yes,wow..that sounds wonderful Darkwing
I too use tarots, and my candles, pendulum, but I also have rune stones...Mine are the ones that came out over twenty years ago, when rune stones first became popular..the Blum ones??? Think that's the name. For some reason I always get overjoyed when I do a reading and the Spiritual Warrior one comes up..Teiwaz? The one that looks like an arrow.

Yes, they are Ralph Blum's rune stones, and the Spiritual Warrior is close... it's Tiwaz, an upward pointing arrow. I'm learning, my friend and I just can't wait to get my hands on my gift! :)

I can feel your excitemant pal , I would love to be able to do this kind of thing , I love all things magical and mystical , and I would love to have something like that done , I was told many years ago that I had healing hands and I could help somebody with that ability , but that was so many years ago I can't even remember who said it to me , I know I would be like you and want to go to sleep until the day came , let me know how you get o , I realyy don't know what the actually are or what the do , I have heard of them though , keep being excited pal , that lets you know you are alive and all is working well xxxxx

I believe that we all have powers, Weemam, but we don't all recognise the fact. We need to do just that, and learn how to use our powers properly but alas, some don't believe they have the ability, and others can't find the time. I'm devoted to my Craft and love learning extra things. Of course, I have my favourites, but the Runes are a new concept of scrying that I have yet to try. I really can't wait because I've had some amount of success with the other forms.
