Fred Thompson, star of TV's Law and Order and numerous movies, former U.S. Senator and current soon-to-maybe-be-announced-Presidential-wanna-be is said by some to be a man's man, the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with (where have I heard THAT one before), he's got that "regular guy" thing going that makes working folks think he's like THEM! Here's what I just heard about Mr. Thompson last night on Bill Maher's show:
He flies in on his private jet to wherever he's holding a fund-raising event or rally and is picked up by a limousine; the linousine takes him to a spot close to the event where he gets into the red pick-up truck that's there waiting for him. He arrives in his pick-up truck, just like many of his supporters who are there to greet him with much fanfare...WHAT A GUY!! He does his straight-talk act, possibly he shows his fans that he's got real DIRT under his fingernails, then he drives off into the sunset in his red pick-up truck, probably honking at all his new friends who will probably now write him a big check. These new friends don't know that he's going back to his limousine, then back to his private jet, and back to his fancy Hollywod lifestyle that the conservatives hate so much! Has anyone else heard this story? I thought it was rather interesting...

Wow, that is really sneaky! Sounds just like a typical politician. I really don't understand why they insist on lying to the American people about what they really real and believe about the important issues. We really need someone in office that we can actually trust, but WHERE will we find them?? I will definitely keep this in mind!

I don't expect a candidate for any office, even President of the United States to be perfect. I'd just like someone who is genuine and honest! If someone is wealthy we all know that, let's face it. Another really radical idea I wish some politicians would try out...listening, REALLY listening to the people for a change. Obviously we can't all get everything we want but shouldn't the "majority" mean something? I hate it how condescending some of these politicians are, like they know what's good for us even if we don't think it is.
