HELP! Any information regarding swelling of the jaw/cheek?

I just woke up yesterday and shocked as I faced the mirror, my jaw line was kind of swollen. My face looked wider because of the swelling but there is no pain at all. The swelling does not hurt, neither is there any redness and rash, just plain swelling.
It kind of subsided later in the afternoon, but when I woke up from a nap while in the hospital, it seemed to have came back.
Today when I woke up it still looked a little bit swollen again. I am already kind of afraid to sleep since I don't know what is to happen when I wake up again.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
I asked the doctor and he said it is nothing and there is no meds that he can give me since there is no pain whatsoever.
But still I am alarmed because of this..
Anyone care to inform me if you have any idea regarding what is happening to me?

I don't know for sure but all I know is that there is no pain.
Just the swelling but no pain at all.
The swelling is not very serious, minimal actually but still it is not in a normal state so it is still bothering me cause if there is nothing wrong then there shouldn't be any swelling at all.

What I can say is that the doctor can best answer your question. You can undergo some medical testing, like blood test, to know what's the cause of the swelling.
My first guess was that, you have an allergy. But its better that you consult a doctor, to be sure.
It also happened to me before, my face swells, but I experienced itcheness and rashes... so its allergy. I took some medicines for allergy, and the itcheness gone and the swelling subsided.

Yes I will be back to the doctor tomorrow to get it checked again.
Yesterday he said it was nothing but then the swelling still comes back.
