How to boost my WiFi signal ????

Can anyone help with some ideas on how I can boost the reception and transmission signals of my WiFi card. I have a PCA Wifi Card slotted into my laptop but it has no connections to add an external antennae. I have fully updated the drivers and this has helped slightly, but I'm looking for alittle more. Any advice would be more than welcome.
