I wouldn't change my name (unless I was adding my Grandmother's maiden name, to honour her memory).
I love my given name, and yes, it does have a special meaning.
Gemila is Arabic for 'beautiful' (although usually different spelling)
My father wanted to name me Gem, but my mother didn't approve, and liked the sound of Gemila instead, which she didn't know was an existing name.
When my grandmother found out what I'd been named she was amazed, as she is Greek/Lebanese and loved that I had a name that fitted my heritage.

What a beautiful story to go with a lovely name. I did go through a stage of wanting to change my name, but i suppose as you grow older, you get protective. I did always want a name tag for my bedroom door though and could never get one, my sister too, her names shelby.

Yeah, my sister and I have always had that problem with buying the mass-produced name tags/labels etc.
And then there's the mispronunciations: Camilla, Jamella and so on.
My sister's name is Ruby-Mae, but there was never meant to be a connection of 'Gem' names with the two of us =P

I love the name Sarah, It is Hebrew for princess.But when it comes to boys names, I love the name David which means beloved.

i think of it before, but i can't choose a better name for me, so i still use my given name.
frankly, i dont' like my name, because it seems like a name for those mild girls. i'm not a mild girl, maybe i dont' want to me a mild girl. i like a girl with strong mind, and she has her own business and she can enjoy her current life. i really want to be that kind of girl, but now i become more and more mild, and i feel myself unconfident day by day.
i quit my job, so i have no enough for my living. i was a gererous girl and i had never saved money before, but now i have to control myself not to buy those unnecessaries. i feel very depressed. so i am losing my confidence day by day.
